Totem

Living high above the clouds in the branches of Er Tiego, the Western Pillar Tree, most Totems live their entire lives without seeing the ground up close (and those unfortunate ones that do only see it for the brief second before they hit it). They are born in the tree and die in the tree. The Totems spend much of their time sitting and enjoying the view, as the low oxygen at such an altitude prevents any strenuous physical activity. They are excellent climbers, and have an extra set of small arms to perform tasks such as feeding or foraging while their climbing arms hold onto a branch. Long, fine hairs cover their prehensile tail that the Totem will let dangle into passing clouds. The hair on the tail absorbs condensation from the cloud and the Totem is able to sustain themselves solely on the moisture from sucking on their own wet tail.
